Rachel Jackson is an internationally respected dance educator, mentor, examiner, adjudicator, and former professional dancer. Originally from England, she performed professionally in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, character, and national dance throughout Europe and Asia before settling in Germany.

From 1996 – 2005 Rachel was one of the original choreographers for the world famous Irish Show ‘Magic of the Dance’. Other productions of musicals and dance shows where Rachel was choreographer included Nonsense, Eating Raoul, The Little Shop of Horrors to name just a few. In 2003, Rachel trained as an examiner for the Royal Academy of Dance® and travels worldwide examining children and students in classical ballet. In 2021 she was appointed a Trustee for the Royal Academy of Dance® and also finished her Masters Degree in the art of Teaching Classical Ballet from the Palucca University of Dance, Dresden.

Rachel has had the pleasure to teach on many Summer and Easter Schools throughout Europe and as far away as China. Her main work now is teaching and mentoring teachers and students for examinations face to face but working over Zoom has widened her visions and possibilities for teachers in the field of dance. Rachel now focusses on coaching and mentoring students and teachers especially in well-being, longevity and is an advocate for anatomical and holistic dance training. Rachel is the creative mind behind “The Dance Teachers Forum” an online forum in the dance teaching section for teachers all over the world which is now in its 4th year.

Another important part to Rachel's career is judging for championships. Being a successful choreographer herself for tap dance formations (many German and World Championship titles). She is also a sought-after judge for IDO Championships and has just recently passed her exams as a supervisor and chairperson for IDO Championships.

Since 2022 Rachel is on the judging panel for Dance World Cup qualifiers and finals. Rachel was invited to be an advisor on the DWC advisory Panel which is a role she is delighted to have been offered. Currently she is in Head of International Judging for DWC. The future education of dancers and teachers in competition and pre-professional career settings is one where DWC has taken a defining lead in the industry and this is something which lies close to my heart.
